Fall is in full swing.
For some, that means pumpkin spice. For others, that means apples. Apple pie, apple cider, apple sauce – the list goes on and on.
Apple Day falls on Oct. 21 this year. Let's celebrate with some good old-fashioned apple picking.

Smith's Orchard Cider Mill
4960 Mapleton Road, Pendleton
This second-generation, family-run mill can be found in Pendleton. From McIntosh to Cortland, from Golden Delicious to Crispin, this place has you covered.
Open on weekends to all, you can go here to pick apples, check out the cider mill and purchase as much cider or apples as you'd like.
Blackman Homestead Farm
4472 Thrall Road, Lockport
This spot is open seven days a week. Lots of types of apples are in season, including Gala, Cortland, Empire and Red Delicious. You can get lots more than just apples here, too. Check out the apple cider, fruit butter, apple sauces, syrup, honey and more. See a complete list here.

This fifth-generation farm says: "It's the simple things in life that make all the difference."
Apple picking is among its many offerings. Right now, Empire, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Crispin and Ida Red are in season and ready to be picked.

Sanger Farms & Bakery
852 Lockport St., Youngstown
Enjoy the picturesque farmland, while strolling by trees and picking apples at Sanger Farms. The apple picking is available every weekend during harvest seasons. While you're there, don't miss out on the hiking trail or hay rides. Also, pay the Back Barn Cafe a visit.
2356 Shirley Road, North Collins
Stop by this spot for over 20 varieties of apples. While you're there, check out the local honey and maple syrup. It's located just off of Route 62. Check out its Facebook page for reviews.
