WINNING TICKET – Friedens United Church of Christ, 190 Vandervoort St., North Tonawanda, will open its Fall/Holiday Theme Basket Auction at 10 a.m. Saturday, with drawings at 1 p.m. Admission is $5 and includes a set of 26 basket tickets.

SOUP’S ON – Niagara Hose Fire Company No. 3, 74 Wheeler St., City of Tonawanda, will hold a chowder sale at noon Saturday. Cost is $4 per quart. Advance orders are accepted from those who drop containers off early.

The Third Ward Social Club, 147 12th Ave., North Tonawanda, also has a chowder sale at noon Saturday featuring the Famous St. Joe’s Recipe.

The annual Kiwanis Club of Marilla Soup Tasting will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday in the Marilla Community Center, 1810 Two Rod Road, featuring about 30 crockpots of all-you-can-eat soup or chili, plus salad, dessert and beverages. CHASING THE BLUES – Buffalo Blues, having raised more than $10,000 for the Western New York Veterans Housing Coalition, hopes to generate even more with a compilation album showcasing a host of leading local musicians. Half a dozen or more of them will help launch the album at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Sportsmen’s Tavern, 326 Amherst St.
On stage will be Alison Pipitone, Dirty Smile, Doug Yeomans, Grace Lougen, Hayden Fogle and Jony James, along with special guests. Tickets are $10 advance, $13 at the door. For more info, visit BuffaloBlues.org.

REUNITED – The ABC Bel Canto Choirs and the Chautauqua Youth Chorale will join voices at 4 p.m. Sunday for their 23rd annual Together Again Concert in Christ United Methodist Church, 350 Saratoga Road, Amherst.
Bel Canto’s Bravo and Vivace choirs will perform for the first time this season and many styles of music – from folk to pop to classical – will be featured. A reception and craft show will follow. Admission is free.
