WISCHERATH - Sally C. 88, formerly of Liverpool, NY and Buffalo, NY, passed away peacefully in Houston, TX on October 13, 2017. She was born and raised in Buffalo, NY where she attended D'Youville College and graduated from the Sisters of Charity School of Nursing. Sally married Lambert J. Wischerath in 1951 and had a rewarding 65-year union until his passing in 2016. She was always most proud of her six children, four of which received Bachelor's Degrees, two received Masters Degrees, and one received a Doctorate. In addition to raising six children, Sally worked in the nursing profession throughout her life, completing her career at the Syracuse Developmental Center. She always loved traveling to the Adirondack Mountains with family, and was an avid Notre Dame Football fan. Sally is survived by five children: son, L. Joseph Wischerath of Charleston, SC; daughter, Sally A. (Wischerath) Centrich of Montgomery, TX; daughter, Karen M. (Wischerath) Sager of Duxbury, MA; daughter, Susan E. (Wischerath) Cornell of Sugar Land, TX; daughter, Linda J. (Wischerath) Sutton of Kennesaw, GA. She was preceded in death by her son, William R. Wischerath. Sally is also survived by her brothers, Dr. Frank Pfalzer and James Pfalzer; her brother-in-law, Robert Wischerath; fourteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Sally was a nurturing and patient mother, a loving wife, and a very forgiving person. She exhibited her true character during her final years when, in spite of numerous ailments, never once complained and always had a great sense of humor. In her honor, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at Christ the King Church, 21 Cherry Tree Circle, Liverpool, NY 13090, on Monday, October 23rd at 10 AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in DeWitt. It is requested that contributions in lieu of flowers be made to Christ the King Church.
