An office manager forged documents creating false expenses as part of a scheme to steal from his employer, Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced Friday.
William Gajewski, 55, of Amherst, admitted stealing $318,000 from March 1, 2015, to Dec. 31, 2016, while he was the office manager at Buffalo Rheumatology and Medicine in Orchard Park, according to the District Attorney's Office.
Gajewski pleaded guilty before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth F. Case to grand larceny, forgery and criminal tax fraud.
The checks made out for the false expenses were deposited into his personal bank account, prosecutors said.
Gajewski also admitted failing to pay $11,744 in back taxes from 2016.
Gajewski faces 5 to 15 years in prison when sentenced by Case on Jan. 30.
