Karen Lee Lewis, a poet, photographer, teaching artist and teacher consultant for the Western New York Writing Project, will be the guest artist at the Poetry Club at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17 in the Hamburg Public Library.
She teaches creative writing workshops for children and adults throughout Western New York. She has been involved in arts education for more than a decade and participated in the first national workshop for teaching artists at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in 2012.
Her new chapbook, “Solitude,” is based on a Charles Burchfield painting of the same name. It is a 10-part poem that is paired with her original photographs.
Members of the pubic also are invited to bring a poem they have written or a work by a poet of their choice to the Poetry Club.
