Police find driver with stolen gun after N. Buffalo road rage incident

A Buffalo man faces gun possession and other charges after allegedly pointing a gun at another driver during a road rage incident Tuesday afternoon in North Buffalo.

Two drivers exchanged words near the intersection of Hertel and Delaware avenues at about 3:50 p.m., according to a Buffalo police report.

One of the drivers, identified as Demetrius L. Parker, 35, of Box Avenue, is accused of pointing a gun at the other motorist before driving away. Police spotted the minivan Parker was driving on the Kensington Expressway, and he was stopped on Alma Avenue, off Olympic Avenue.

In the minivan, police found a defaced .45-caliber handgun reported stolen in Amherst last year, according to the report.

Police charged Parker with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of third-degree criminal possession, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree menacing, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and second-degree obstruction of governmental administration.
