Dining Out for Life on Tuesday to support HIV treatment, prevention

The couple who run The Black Sheep Restaurant & Bar are honorary co-chairs of this year’s Dining Out for Life, which will take place Tuesday at 90 restaurants in Erie, Niagara and Chautauqua counties.

Those restaurants have agreed to donate at least 25 percent of their proceeds to support HIV treatment and prevention services provided by nonprofit Evergreen Health.

Black Sheep Executive Chef Steve Gedra and owner, operator and baker Ellen Gedra will donate half the proceeds for the day from their farm-to-table restaurant on Connecticut Street on The West Side.

“Ellen and I are happy to continue our involvement with this event, which supports Evergreen Health and the much-needed services it provides to our community,” Steve Gedra said in a news release. “We believe it’s important to help each other in any way we can. The community supports our business, and we want to support our community.”
