A South Buffalo teenager is accused of violently shaking his infant daughter, throwing her into a bed and against the wall and failing to seek medical attention for her injuries, according to a summary of a Buffalo police arrest report.
Buffalo police on Saturday arrested a 17-year-old Abbott Road man and charged him with first-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child. The Buffalo News is not naming the teen at this time.
The teen is accused of a violent assault on the baby beginning shortly before 4 p.m. Saturday and including falling down the stairs on her.
The report summary doesn't indicate how the injuries came to the notice of the authorities, nor does it provide information on the child's condition.
The girl is described as an infant but is not otherwise identified.
