Fraser appointed executive director of Erie County Association of School Boards

A retired Lockport city schools superintendent has been appointed executive director of the Erie County Association of School Boards.

Bruce Fraser took over last week as head of the association, which represents 27 of the 28 school districts in the county and runs programs to educate school board members.

After retiring from Lockport in 2006, Fraser served as executive director of the State Rural Schools Association from 2010 to 2014. He has also served as interim superintendent for the Iroquois and Amherst school districts.

Fraser received a doctorate and master's degree from Virginia Tech and a bachelor's degree from the University at Buffalo.

Fraser takes over from Jane Burzynski, who served 11 years in the role.
