CARTALANO - Frank Nicholas It is with deep sadness, we inform you of the death of Frank Cartalano, Virginia Beach, VA - (formerly of Cherry Creek, NY) on Sunday, October 1, 2017.
Frank passed away at the Sentara Rehabilitation Center in Virginia Beach, VA after an extended illness, with his mother at his side.
A generous, caring, funny and one phenomenal Beatles fan, Frank was born in Bronx, NY on February 25, 1956. He was 61 years old. Serving in the United States Army, he was a retired Developmental Aide at the Western NY Office of People with Developmental Disabilities. His kind and caring soul is already significantly missed and will continue to be by those who knew and loved Frank.
Besides his son, Anthony (Tony) Cartalano, he is survived by his mother, Barbara Bass, soul mate and kindred spirit of close to three decades, Terri Cartalano; his step-children, Brandy (Dennis) White, Brent Henderson and Trevor (Anna) Henderson; grandchildren, Juan, Quentin and Dominic Martinez; half sisters, Jean Cropley and Deborah Slocum, their spouses and children. Frank leaves behind several cousins, aunts, uncles and friends nationwide. That heavy New York City accent, "Whaddya talkin' about?" will always be fondly remembered.
Funeral services will be private at the wishes of his family and a celebration of his life will be on Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at the Cattaraugus Firemen's Club, 24 Memorial Drive in Cattaraugus, NY. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Frank's name to either the Veterans Administration or the American Cancer Society. We are grateful for your donations, as Frank would be.
