School taxes are due by Oct. 16 for Amherst residents, who will have several options to make payment this year.
Taxes may be paid by mail, in person at the Town Clerk's Office, online or at select M&T Bank branches listed on the back of tax bills, Town Clerk Marjory Jaeger said in a news release.
Mailed payments must be postmarked no later than Oct. 16 to avoid penalties.
Online payment (service fees apply) by e-check, credit and debit cards can be made at www.amherst.ny.us. In person, the Clerk’s Office accepts cash, checks, money orders, and credit and debit cards. Credit and debit cards have a service fee.
The Clerk's Office in Amherst Town Hall, 5583 Main St., will also be open late, until 6 p.m., on Oct. 13 and 16.
