Man jumps from second floor window, fails to evade Buffalo police

A Lexington Avenue man jumped from a second-story window of his home early Saturday in an unsuccessful effort to escape arrest in an apparent domestic violence case.

Bobby Oliver, 42, was arrested shortly after 1 a.m. on a felony count of criminal mischief, along with charges of assault, obstructing governmental administration and harassment.

A woman told officers that Oliver smashed her cellphone, punched her in the chest and knocked her to the ground on Anderson Place, about a block from Oliver's home. Oliver fled the scene when police arrived, but they headed for his home and captured him after he jumped out the window.
