The City of Tonawanda approved rezoning 14-acres of wooded land at 151 Little League Drive for a 92-unit, upscale condominium housing project.
Riverwalk Villas is the first new housing project in the city in decades.
The two-bedroom houses would be sold in the $200,000-range said David Home Builders owner David Stapleton, who spoke with residents at a public hearing on the zoning two weeks ago.
The project still needs approvals on preliminary and final plans from the planning board and Common Council.
"Stapleton said the current plans are just concepts and he wants to make sure residents concerns are addressed and encouraged as they move forward. It is not the final plan," said Fourth Ward Councilman Tim Toth.
