DeGraff Memorial Hospital will break ground Wednesday on a $7.8 million renovation of its emergency department.
Kaleida Health will relocate the North Tonawanda hospital's emergency department from the west side of the hospital campus to the east side, fronting Twin city Highway. Kaleida said the new location will allow for better access, parking and visibility for patients, families and visitors.
The project calls for 17 treatment bays, including a trauma room, a dedicated bariatric room and an airborne isolation room. The new emergency department will include a decontamination area suitable for infectious diseases.
