UEBELHOER - Bernard F. Of Lancaster, passed away on September 14 at age 95. Husband of the late Doris (Logal), he is survived by children, Joyce Tracey and husband Thomas of Lexington, MA, Rebecca Brown and husband Stephen of Wilmington, MA and Paul Uebelhoer and girlfriend Jennifer Carr of Albuquerque, NM; special dear friend to Bernice Geyer of Lancaster; and granddaughters Karen and Meghan Tracey and Alyssa, Maggie and Hannah Brown. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Son of the late Edward and Ottilia (Berger) and brother of the late Elizabeth (Fisher), Martin, Helene, Carl, Rita (Krichovich) and Coletta (LaRose). A veteran of the US Army Air Corps Pacific Theatre from World War II, Bernie spent his career working at the New York Telephone Company, retiring in 1984. A lifelong resident of Lancaster, Bernie was involved with many community organizations, most notably as a member of the Protective Hose Company of the Lancaster Village Fire Department for 72 years and an active parishioner of St. Mary's of the Assumption Church. He also volunteered with Meals on Wheels for 30 years, the Lancaster-Depew Rotary Club and the Lancaster Opera House. He was the recipient of the Village of Lancaster James Siemon Keysa Mayor's Community Service Award in 2012. Memorial Mass at St. Mary's of the Assumption Church in Lancaster on Saturday, October 7 at 9:30AM. Memorial contributions can be made in Bernie's honor to Lancaster Protective Hose Company, 5423 Broadway, Lancaster, NY 14086.
