Emily Kase, a junior at Sacred Heart, shot an 84 at Elma Meadows on Sunday to win the Monsignor Martin Association girls golf championship. Kas finished 11 strokes in front of senior Isabela Vasquez of Nardin who shot a 95. Hayley Mahoney, a Nardin sophomore, was third with a 98.
Besides Kase, Sacred Heart had three other top 10 finishers in the tournament. Junior Giovanna Bolognese was fourth with 106; freshman Eliza Podlas was eighth with 115, and junior Rebecca Worling was ninth at 117.
Sacred Heart won the regular season championship with an 8-0 record, extending the Sharks' winning streak to 54. The win streak goes back to 2011. Sacred Heart has gone undefeated in Monsignor Martin matches since 2011.
