Buffalo Police called to scene of man barricaded in residence

For the second consecutive day, Buffalo Police on Friday were called to a scene in which someone was barricaded in a residence.

South District police officers responded to a call just before 4 the 400 block of Willett Street, where a man reported to have barricaded himself in an upper apartment, according to Buffalo Police Department spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge.

Members of the department's SWAT and crisis management teams were summoned to the scene, he said.

The incident ended just before 6:20 p.m., when the 35-year-old surrendered to police without incident, according to DeGeorge,

The man was transported to Erie County Medical Center for evaluation, DeGeorge said.

No charges had been filed as of late Friday.
