Suspected Buffalo heroin dealer arrested

Authorities have arrested a suspected heroin dealer on two drug counts, Acting U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy Jr. announced.

Jose Ramos-Escalera, 29, of Buffalo, has been charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute and distribution of heroin. In a criminal complaint, investigators from the Drug Enforcement Administration said Ramos-Escalera distributed heroin in the Buffalo area between July 18 and Sept. 26 and possessed heroin that he intended to distribute.

The charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
