Pedestrian robbed on Buffalo's West Side

A driver who asked a pedestrian for directions robbed the man at gunpoint Wednesday morning on Buffalo's West Side, according to a police report.

The pedestrian told Buffalo police he was walking on Maryland Street near Niagara Street between 6:30 and 7 a.m. when the driver of a Jeep pulled over and asked for directions, according to the report.

When the victim got close to the vehicle, the driver pulled a gun and demanded the victim's money and a chain he was wearing. The robber then drove away down Seventh Street, according to the report.
