Climate activist Bill McKibben to visit Buffalo Friday

Bill McKibben will bring his message of global grassroots climate justice to the Albright-Knox Art Gallery on Friday.

McKibben, an environmental author, activist and founder of the anti-fossil fuel group 350.org, will be the featured lecturer at the three-day Buffalo Humanities Festival.

McKibben's talk "The Desperate Climate Fight: Ordinary People in an Extraordinary Movement" is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Friday at the art gallery.

The humanities festival is a three-day event that starts Thursday.

Sponsored by the Humanities Institute at the University at Buffalo, the festival features environmental discussions along with musical performances.

Tickets for McKibben's talk are $20 for the general public and $15 for students. They are available online at the festival's website.
