The Ten X Shooting Club in Lancaster has gotten a grant of more than $3,000 from the NRA Foundation to set up a youth shooting program.
The Ten X Shooting Club has had a goal of establishing a youth shooting program, but the costs involved in starting such a program can be prohibitive, according to a news release from the NRA Foundation last week.
Peter Vasilion, president of Ten X, said the grant represents an investment in youth of the Lancaster community.
According to the foundation, the board and membership of Ten X have made a commitment to support a youth shooting program, and the grant will allow the club to expedite plans for one.
Matt Giansante, Ten-X's youth shooting program coordinator, stated in the foundation's release the club's goal is "to provide a safe shooting environment with proper instruction... in an effort to encourage young people to embrace the joy and skill that shooting affords.”
