Colleges: Buffalo State names Brown head softball coach

Jamie Brown, the coach at Sage Colleges the last six years, was named head softball coach at Buffalo State effective Oct. 1.

A Buffalo State graduate, Brown was an outfielder for the Bengals 1996-99. She has 18 years of coaching experience on multiple levels including junior college. She has had stints as assistant coach at Butte College, Southern Utah, Wagner and Westminster and head coach at California State-Chico, East Stroudsburg and Skidmore. She had a 141-101 overall record at Sage and led the team to a regular-season Skyline Conference championship in 2014.

As a player at Buffalo State she helped the team to a SUNYAC championship and two NCAA Division III playoff appearances.
