Keegan wins state Mid-Amateur

Patrick Keegan of Locust Hill Country Club in Rochester shot a final round 69 Sunday and won the New York State Golf Association Mid-Amateur Championshipo the Yahnundasis Country Club in New Hartford. His 207 total, 6 under for the tournament, was six strokes better than runner-up Darin Goldstein of Noyac Golf Club who shot a final 73 for 213. Devlin Walsh of the NYSGA eClub-Mid Hudson was third at 71-214.

Patrick Nealon (Brierwood) led the Western New York contingent, tying for sixth place after a final round put him at 218 for the tournament. Michael Carrig (Springville) and Matt Stasiak (NYSGA eClub-WNY) tied for ninth at 219 after each shot 72 on Sunday. Billy Haynes (Crag Burn) and Jake Katz (Brookfield) tied for 14th at 220. Katz shot 71 in his final round., Kristopher Boyes (Sheridan Park) tied for 18th at 76-222. Kenneth Riter (NYSGA eClub-WNY) was 21st with 74-223 and Nicklaus Ambrose (Fox Valley was tied for 27th with 75-226.
