Care for aging population topic of November panel in Buffalo

Health care leaders from The Eden Alternative, Roswell Park Cancer Institute and the University at Buffalo will share insights on aging during a panel discussion Nov. 3.

The event will take place at Templeton Landing in Buffalo.

The event -- "Improving the Health Status of the Community: Person-Centered Care for our Aging Population" -- will explore clinical, social and economic challenges of caring for elderly in a compassionate yet sustainable manner.

Larry Zielinski, executive in residence for health care administration in the UB School of Management, will moderate.

It will feature four experts: Kathy Hagen, from The Eden Alternative; Shirley Johnson, Roswell Park Cancer Institute; Dr. Nancy H. Nielsen, the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at UB; and Dr. Bruce Troen, UB's Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine.

The event is open to the public. Registration is at 8 a.m., and the discussion runs from 8:30-10 a.m. To register, visit caringfortheaging.eventzilla.net. Tickets are $20 for students, $50 for American College of Health Care Executives members, $60 for non-members.
