A City of Tonawanda man has been charged with burglarizing two homes in the city earlier this week.
Garrett M. Shugg, 29, of Cleveland Avenue, was arrested Wednesday night at his home after authorities executed a search warrant and found items taken in the burglaries, City of Tonawanda police said.
The first burglary was reported Monday at a home on Clarence Harder Drive, where jewelry, a television and a pickup were taken. The second was reported during the day on Tuesday at a home on East Niagara Street, police said. Jewelry and cash were taken in that theft.
Police found the pickup not far from the second burglary scene, authorities said.
During their search of Shugg's home, police also found a donation jug stolen Sept. 3 from the Tops Markets on Young Street, police said.
Police charged Shugg with two counts of second-degree burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, two counts of possession of stolen property, two counts of petit larceny, criminal possession of a controlled substance and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Bail was set at $20,000 at his arraignment.
