While there's more to focus on in today's NFL, kickers still hold a decent amount of importance.
Last week, we began this series to compare the performance of current Bills kicker Stephen Hauschka with Dan Carpenter's 2016 campaign.
We'll be tracking this all season.
Here's how the two stack up after one game.
2017 Hauschka: 0/1
2016 Carpenter: 0/1
In the season opener against the Ravens in Baltimore, Carpenter missed a 49-yarder in the third quarter that would've tied the score at 10. Buffalo went on to lose, 13-7. Carpenter made the only extra point he attempted in that game.
On Sunday against the Jets, Hauschka missed a 46-yarder with the Bills holding a 7-3 lead. Hauschka made all three of his extra point attempts.
2017 Hauschka: 3/3
2016 Carpenter: 1/1
