Men’s basketball coach Mark Schmidt, women’s basketball coach Jesse Fleming and Athletics Director Tim Kenney will travel through western New York to meet with alumni and friends on Sept. 21 when the St. Bonaventure Athletics Coaches Caravan makes stops in Rochester and Buffalo.
In Rochester, a luncheon will be held at Blue Cross Arena. Check-in will begin at 11:30 a.m. and a lunch buffet will be served starting at noon. The cost to attend the luncheon is $20 per person and advance reservations are required. Please register at www.sbu.edu/alumni.
St. Bonaventure’s men’s basketball team will play Vermont, a 2016 NCAA Tournament team, at Blue Cross Arena on Dec. 16.
After Rochester, the caravan will move to downtown Buffalo for a social at 716 Food and Sport inside Harbor Center from 5-7 p.m. Appetizers will be provided and there is no cost to attend, but guests are asked to pre-register at www.sbu.edu/alumni.

Jayden Ecker and Isabella Pede from Gymnastics Unlimited qualified to the National TOPs test in Houston, Tex. at the USA Gymnastics National Training Camp. The top 100 8-year olds (Pede) & 9-year olds (Ecker) in the nation qualified at regional tryouts with tests of strength, flexibility and skills. They will try for the “National TOPs” in October.
BASKETBALL: Daemen basketball coach Mike MacDonald will host the Little Dribblers Basketball School at St. Benedict in Amherst on Saturday mornings from Sept. 23-Nov. 11. HOCKEY: The Buffalo Regals Junior B team of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League will open the 2017-18 season at home on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at Buffalo State Arena. Warm up is at 6:30 p.m. and the puck drops at 7 p.m. The GOJHL is an exciting league made up of players 20 and under who aspire to advance to the college and professional ranks of hockey.
