An event for residents and community members in Buffalo's Fruit Belt neighborhood will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13 at the Moot Center, 292 High St.
Entitled "Community Walk & Talk," the event is part of a "Better Block" project funded by a grant from the AARP aimed at improving quality of life.
The center of the project in the Fruit Belt is the intersection of Carlton and Lemon streets. Buffalo was one of three cities selected to receive the grant. The city's Urban Renewal Agency is helping to coordinate the project.
“The project’s key benefit is to inspire a collective re-imagining and reinvention of a public space to assist in enhancing a livable community and maximizing shared value," Brenda Durfee of the Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency said in a news release.
