The Healthy 10: Slow Roll, fundraising walks, 5K on tap this week

Slow Roll Buffalo: 5:30 p.m., roll at 6:30 p.m., Buffalo Fire Department Engine 20, 157 Ohio St. Roughly 10-mile guided ride for all ages and abilities. First-time riders should register at Free.


Meditation & Yoga as Christian Spiritual Practice: 7 to 8 p.m., St. Mary’s Elementary School gym, 2 St. Mary’s Hill, Aurora and St. Joseph streets, Lancaster. Free, though donations are accepted, with all proceeds going to the parish. For more info and class dates, call 683-6445, Ext. 24.

Taste of Tesla: 6 to 8 p.m., Walden Design Center, 3295 Walden Ave., Depew. “Experience” a Tesla Model S and Model X, enjoy appetizers and refreshments prepared by chef Mike Andrzejewski, win a chance to borrow a Tesla for the weekend. RSVP at Proceeds benefit the Olmsted Center for Sight.


Walk to End Alzheimer’s: Registration starts at 8:30 a.m., walk starts at 10:15 a.m., Delaware Park Ring Road behind the Buffalo Zoo. Register online here.

Hospice Dash 5K: To benefit Niagara Hospice, 9 a.m. next Saturday, Porter on the Lake Park, Dietz Road, Youngstown. Register at $38. Includes T-shirt and after party.

Walk the Falls: Registration starts at 9:30 a.m., Niagara Hub, 630 Main St., Niagara Falls. Walk, run or bike to Whirlpool State Park for music, food and a pop-up park. Free, though you’re asked to register online at or in person the day of the walk.

Energy for Life Walkathon: Registration starts at 11:30 a.m., walk at 1 p.m., Town Park, Harlem Road at George Urban Boulevard, Cheektowaga. To benefit the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation. For more info, visit

Peace Justice Nonviolence Festival and Walk: 1 p.m. Walk of Peace part of a festival that runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Great Lawn at Canalside. Festival starts with a story for children from the SUNY Buffalo State’s Anne Frank Project. A story-building workshop will follow; a play will follow the walk.
