Sept. 6 WNY Driver of the week: Sherri Hogan

Age: 42

Hometown: Bellwood, Ont.

Division: Sportsman/ Lancaster Speedway

Lowdown: Hogan began her career in her native Canada competing in the Modified class in 1991 at Ontario's Varney Motor Speedway. Hogan next brought her race program to Holland Speedway, where she campaigned from 1994-2004 in the NASCAR Pro Modifieds. Hogan transferred to Lancaster in 2005, where she has competed ever since in the track's Sportsman division. She drove her family-owned car until it was totaled in a 2015 accident at Lancaster. She now drives the King-Wolf Racing No.74 entry as well as a new family-owned machine. Hogan is grateful to her father Bob Hogan and husband Aaron Wojtaszczyk for their assistance with her racing career. She travels three to four hours each week to get to Lancaster.

Accomplishments: In 2004, Hogan became the first female in Holland racing history to record a feature win in a headlining premier division. Hogan had a Holland career-best third-place finish in points in 2004. She has earned both the Holland most popular driver and most improved driver awards during her racing years.  She is a past winner of NASCAR Woman in Racing Award and FOAR Score Woman in Racing and Perseverance Awards. She was Lancaster's 2005 rookie of the year.

Favorite Food: Roast Beef.

Favorite Music: All types but especially country singer Jason Aldean.

Hobbies: "Anything Disney". Visits Disney World every two years.
