Volunteers from Adams Volunteer Fire Company responded to a fire alarm at Aero Instruments and Avionics at 7290 Nash Road in Wheatfield, just after 8 p.m. Monday.
Adams Fire Chief Donald Lauer said firefighters responding to an automatic alarm found smoke in the building, which was confined to a computer room. He said they were able to use a fire extinguisher to contain the fire, which was in an inverter that fed all the computers, and then cleared the smoke.
Mutual aid was provide by St. Johnsburg Fire Company. Shawnee and Frontier fire companies provided trucks on standby.
