The Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve in Cheektowaga is inviting the public to its 17th Annual Fall Festival on Sept. 16.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the festival will show visitors new ways to enjoy the outdoors, such as learning observation skills on the Wildlife Spotters Trail or testing out navigation skills with the Niagara Frontier Search and Rescue Team's compass course.
Simulated snowshoeing and fly fishing will be offered as well as demonstrations by a Department of Environmental Conservation Officer and his K9 companion. Other guest appearances include Smokey Bear and Andrea Locke of the WNY Partnership for Regional Invasive Species Management.
The preserve is located at 93 Honorine Drive, off of Como Park Blvd. A donation to Friends of Reinstein Nature Preserve is requested at the door to support the festival.
