It is the second weekend at college for University at Buffalo students, and not everyone got the memo that Buffalo Police are onto the mayhem that large parties create in the University Heights neighborhood.
Police broke up a number of large parties Friday night and early Saturday.
There were parties in the first block of Northrup Place, the first block of Englewood and the 3100 block of Main Street, according to police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge.
Police made several arrests for criminal nuisance and providing alcohol to a minor, and DeGeorge said patrols will be in place for the holiday weekend.
Neighbors, police and the university are making a concerted effort to reduce the large parties in student rental housing that attract intoxicated crowds and lead to vandalism, loud noise, fights and public urination.
