It's a little chilly this Friday morning – a mere 48 degrees as of about 6:30 a.m. at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport – but Labor Day Weekend is shaping up to be mostly pleasant, if a little wet, according to Jeff Wood, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
Saturday, the forecast calls for a mostly sunny day with highs in the low 70s. But the remnants of Harvey will be passing through the area overnight Saturday into Sunday and is expected to bring a few showers to the area. The rain on Sunday won't be anything remarkable and should dry out by the late afternoon or evening, Wood said. Most of Monday, Labor Day, looks like it will be "a pleasant end to the summer," Wood said, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s if not around 80 for warmer parts.
However, keep an eye out for a front coming through Monday night into Tuesday morning, which is the first day of school for many youngsters in the Buffalo area. There's a possibility of showers and even thunderstorms.
