Don't put your swim suit away just yet.
Swimming will be allowed at Beaver Island State Park for two extra weekends past Labor Day this season, state officials announced Thursday.
The beach on Grand Island will be open for swimming from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sept. 9 and 10 and Sept. 16 and 17.
"New York is home to some of the world's most unparalleled state parks and by extending swimming days at beaches and pools across the state, we invite more New Yorkers to get out and enjoy all these parks have to offer," Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said in a statement announcing the extended swimming days.
Beaver Island is one of more than a dozen state parks where the swimming schedule has been extended in the state. It is the only one in Western New York.
