Letter: Repealing essential rules won’t make America great

Repealing essential rules won’t make America great

Donald Trump brags that he has accomplished more than almost every other president. Obviously his core supporters believe that. Let’s look at his actual record. On the plus side, he did get a person named to the Supreme Court. Health care, infrastructure, the wall, tax reform, not so much. But on the negative side, Trump has undone a host of things that I have to believe even Trumpsters will question.

Reversed a ban on drilling for oil in the Arctic.

Repealed the Waters of the United States rule.

Ended a rule banning dumping waste from mining into streams.

Repealed a rule allowing transgender individuals to serve in the military.

Reversed a rule mandating that oil and gas companies report payments to foreign governments.

Repealed a rule allowing states to create retirement savings plans for private-sector workers.

Repealed a bill that mandated employers maintain a record of workplace injuries.

Dropped net neutrality for internet speed.

Ended a study on the health effects of mountaintop-removal mining.

Rescinded a rule mandating that rising sea levels be considered when building public infrastructure in flood-prone areas.

Revoked a ban on denying funding for Planned Parenthood at the state level.

Reversed a rule mandating that internet providers seek permission before selling personal information.

Reversed a rule that would ban gun sales to those deemed “mentally defective” by the government.

It should be obvious by now that Trump’s “make America great again” was a selling job by a man who has been the great divider and not the unifier!
