Teen on ATV accused of leading deputies on 80 mph chase through Randolph

A 15-year-old boy riding an ATV was arrested after he led police on an 80 mph chase through Randolph, the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday.

At 7:15 p.m. Aug. 24, a sheriff's deputy tried to stop the driver of an ATV on Main Street. But the driver sped off and a chase ensued down Main, 5th Avenue, Route 394 and Sample Road, where the ATV driver finally stopped, officials said.

The driver, whose name was not released because of his age, was issued an appearance ticket on a misdemeanor count of unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle. He was released to his parents and was scheduled to appear in Cattaraugus County Family Court at a later date.
