The Buffalo Beauts added another player to their roster Thursday, reaching an agreement in principle with Jess Jones, the co-scoring leader in the Canadian Women's Hockey League last season.
Jones notched 37 points (17 goals, 20 assists) in 24 games for the Brampton Thunder. She tied Marie-Philip Poulin for the league's scoring title.
“After playing in the European and Canadian leagues, I’m looking forward to the challenge of competing against the great talent in the National Women’s Hockey League,” said Jones, 26. “I’ve admired the league from my home base in Toronto, and of course I know some of the players from my collegiate career, so I’m really pumped to become a member of the Buffalo Beauts.”
Jones played at Mercyhurst from 2008-2012, finishing her collegiate career with 61 goals and 93 assists in 136 games.
