The Department of Motor Vehicles and Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo's Traffic Safety Committee have scheduled a free, child safety seat check from 2:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Catholic Health of Buffalo, 144 Genesee St.
At the event, trained technicians will use the “Learn, Practice, and Explain” model to teach caregivers how to select a child restraint that will fit their child, fit their vehicle and be used correctly every time.
Registration for the event is required. To register, call 447-6205.
According to Traffic Safety Marketing, car crashes are a leading cause of death for children 1 to 13 years old. Many deaths and injuries can be prevented by proper use of car seats, boosters and seat belts.
