Aug. 30 WNY Driver of the Week: Jared Zimbardi

Division: Sprint Cars/Patriot Sprint Tour

Lowdown: Zimbardi, a Little Valley native, has had a stellar career with the Patriot Sprint Tour earning four PST American Series point championships and a trio of PST Canadian Series titles. He currently leads Steve Collins by 22 points in the 2017 PST American Series standings and trails Dylan Westbrook by six in the PST Canadian Series. Zimbardi began his Sprint Car career at age 15 in 2002 at Freedom Motorsports Park and joined the PST when it was formed in 2003. Zimbardi earned his first career PST victory in 2007. He was runner-up in PST American points from 2007 through 2010. Earlier this season national Sprint Car legend Sammy Swindell drove Zimbardi's 410 Sprint Car to a $10,000-to-win victory at Orange County Fair Speedway.

Accomplishments: Zimbardi captured PST American Series championships in 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2016. He was the best in the PST Canadian points in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Zimbardi is second on the all-time PST win list with 37, trailing leader Chuck Hebing (44). Zimbardi has notched five PST victories in 2017. He won 10 PST races in 2014 and eight last season.

Favorite Food: "When I win I have filet migon and when I lose it's hot dogs and hamburgers."

Favorite Music: "All types of music".

Hobbies: Zimbardi pursues an interest in controlled electrical automation. Also enjoys family time with wife Susan and daughter Audrey, 2, and son Vinny, 6 months.
