KIDDER, Raymond D.
KIDDER - Raymond D. 68, passed away July 15, 2017 at the University of Miami Hospital. He went to Sweet Home H.S. and the U.S.M.C. After the Marines, he opened the Amherst Service Center on Maple Road in Amherst, N.Y. Ray was talented in mechanical work and became a very good electrician at Morgan Industries, where he retired. Throughout his life, Ray enjoyed volunteering and helping others. He was a volunteer fireman for the Brighton Fire Dept. In addition, he could be found working with the Riverside Football Team, helping with the field, as well as cooking hot dogs and hamburgers. He also volunteered his services for the Thunder on the Niagara Boat Races every summer, which led to working part-time for Mississippi Mud and Old Man River, something he thoroughly enjoyed. Ray was most proud of being on the Board of Directors for the Unknown Club. He would host barbecues to help raise funds for their charities. On holidays, the club would pass out turkeys and hams to anyone in need. They would visit sick children and elicit smiles by bringing toys and stuffed animals. Ray is survived by Deborah Kidder Beard (sister), Michael Kidder (brother), Bill Kidder (son), Joann Rizzone (daughter), two lovely grandchildren, Tiffany (niece) & Kevin Pfeiffer, and their children, Caden & Addison Pfeiffer. Services will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1411 Delaware Ave. Buffalo, NY, Sunday August 27, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Ray's name to your favorite charity.
