A Chautauqua County woman died in a collision Thursday between a CSX train and her SUV in Ripley, according to the State Police.
Marilyn Triana, 58, of Ripley, was heading south on Goodrich Street and drove through the railroad crossing into the path of the train, police said.
There are no gates at the railroad crossings, though there are lights to warn drivers, according to the Post-Journal in Jamestown.
The impact with the train sent the vehicle about 150 yards before it rolled over and caught fire, the Post-Journal reported.
Another train was passing through the crossing on another set of tracks nearby and police do not know why Triana was proceeding across the tracks.
