The first night of the festival will be a ride preview, with the traditional peach shortcake and the other 22 food vendors not available until Sept. 8, chairman Alan Hastings said Wednesday.

The fireworks on the night of Sept. 8 will mark the 60th anniversary of the festival, sponsored by the Lewiston Kiwanis Club. The Buffalo News is among the corporate sponsors.

Bittner Singer Orchards of Appleton will supply about 11,000 pounds of peaches.

The annual 5K run and parade will be held on the morning of Sept. 9, and the Peach Queen will be crowned on the night of Sept. 10.
