One of the Lockport area's busiest intersections will be partially blocked for about a week, starting at 6 a.m. Friday.
Old Beattie Road will be blocked near its intersection with Robinson and Dysinger roads and Beattie Avenue to allow for installation of a major water main by the Niagara County Water District. The construction project has been restricting traffic in the area for the past few weeks.
Town of Lockport engineer Robert D. Klavoon said the blockage adjacent to Town Hall will make it impossible for northbound traffic on Old Beattie Road to make it through the intersection. Southbound drivers on Beattie Avenue will have to make a turn and will not be able to go straight onto Old Beattie Road.
