A burglar broke into two offices of a downtown office building sometime between Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, according to a Buffalo police report.
The thief stole two laptops, power tools and hand tools from inside 69 Delaware Ave., across the street from Buffalo City Court, between 6 p.m. Tuesday and 1 a.m. Wednesday, according to the report.
Police believe the thief climbed a fire escape to enter the building through an unlocked first-floor window along an alley in an area of the building that was under construction.
The burglar damaged a door handle while entering a 10th-floor office, where the computers were taken. A sixth-floor office was entered when the thief smashed a window and reached in to unlock the door. Nothing was reported stolen from that office, according to the report.
The tools were taken from the first-floor area under construction, the report said.
