LASHER, Keith A.

LASHER - Keith A. 83, of Lockport, NY, passed away on August 18, 2017 at Elderwood Nursing Home in Williamsville, NY. A memorial service will be held at 3PM on Sunday, August 27 at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 75 East Avenue, Lockport, NY. Keith was born to Richard Lasher and Catherine Briggs Lasher on December 5, 1933 in Albany, NY. He was an honor student and athlete at South Park High School in Buffalo, NY. He attended the University of Rochester where he played football on the first undefeated team in 1952. He graduated with a degree in History and Government in 1956 from the University of Buffalo where he also played football and baseball. Keith valued service to the community and his patriotic heritage. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution through his ancestor Conrad B. Lasher. He was also active in several Masonic organizations including Red Jacket Lodge #646 where he served as Master in 1977 and was a 50-year-plus member. He also belonged to the Buffalo Scottish Rite Consistory and Ismailia Shrine Temple where he was a Chanter for many years. Over his career, Keith worked as an accountant and auditor, initially at Holt, Mason & Company and later forming his own firm. He was also an owner of Airkem of the Allegheny Inc. and employed by the Harrison Radiator Division of General Motors in Lockport. In later years, he served as the Niagara County Auditor from which he retired in 2002. Mr. Lasher is survived by his loving ex-wife Charlotte Cash Lasher and three sons, Craig of College Park MD, Brian (Miki) of Wilton CT and Scott (Heather) of Lockport, NY. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sebastian and Jackson of Lockport, NY and Aki and Miya of Wilton CT. Keith generously donated his body to the University at Buffalo Anatomical Gift Program. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children (visit or call 800-241-4438) would be appreciated by the family.
