A 28-year-old Adams Street man drove off during a traffic stop Saturday after he was ordered out of the vehicle for refusing a police command, reported Buffalo police.
Joseph Washington was stopped late on Saturday morning in the 1600 block of William Street, police said. After refusing to raise his left arm from between the door and the seat, Washington was told to step out of the vehicle. But he drove away heading west on William, running a red light at Bailey Avenue and crashing into another vehicle, police said.
Washington was apprehended at the intersection. A police search of his vehicle yielded a bag of marijuana.
Washington was charged with obstructing governmental administration, fleeing a police officer, disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana.
