An arrest has been made in the hit and run death of a Buffalo man on Bailey Avenue earlier this summer.
Wade J. Sanders, 54, of Buffalo turned himself in to Buffalo Police Saturday, according to Lt. Jeff Rinaldo. He is charged with leaving the scene of an accident without reporting, resulting in death, a Class D felony.
Sanders allegedly was driving the white Lincoln SUV that struck and killed Arthur Redrick, 60, on Bailey near Lang Avenue on May 26. A security camera captured horrifying video of the incident, with Redrick seen leaving a store and, when he is in the middle of the street, noticing the vehicle speeding in his direction and trying to run out of its path.
Sanders did not own the SUV, which police located within a week of the incident. Rinaldo said it appeared Sanders did not have a valid license and panicked.
Rinaldo said private participation in the BPD's SafeCam program was key in finding the vehicle and suspect.
