WNY Federal Credit Union erects "Combat Wounded Designated Parking" sign

Western New York Federal Credit Union on Union Road in West Seneca is the latest organization to erect a "Combat Wounded Designated Parking" sign.

State Assemblyman Mickey Kearns, D-Buffalo, is encouraging businesses and municipalities to sign up for a "Combat Wounded Designated Parking" sign through the Wounded Warrior Family Support organization, and become part of the "Purple Heart Parking Club" in Erie County.

After a ceremony at the credit union Thursday, Kearns presented one of the signs to Veronica Sullivan, director of the Evans Senior Center, to place in front of the center.

"As their country, we should recognize all of them and provide these symbols of gratitude for their service as with the Purple Heart Parking sign,” Sullivan said.
