Niagara Falls woman pleads guilty in April 14 stabbing

A Niagara Falls woman pleaded guilty Thursday to assault in connection with the stabbing of a woman during an April 14 street fight in the Falls.

Angel M. Meyers, 22, of Linwood Avenue, admitted to the misdemeanor charge.

Meyers told Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III that she happened on the fight in the 700 block of Niagara Street and tried to break it up. She was holding onto Olivia Brown while Cheyenne N. Buck, whom Meyers said came running from a house on Seventh Street, punched Brown several times and then stabbed Brown with a knife.

"She held onto Ms. Brown longer than she should have," said Brian J. Hutchison, Meyers' attorney.

Murphy scheduled sentencing Sept. 28.

A felony charge is pending against Buck, 22, of Ashland Avenue.
